Desperately Seeking Karaoke LLC Contest Official Submission Rules & Disclaimer By uploading your video to our Dropbox link, you (“Participant”) agree to these Terms and Conditions and you certify that you meet all eligibility requirements and agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before submitting. 1. Eligibility (USA Only, 18+) This Contest is open strictly to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Submissions from outside the US or from minors are automatically void and will be deleted. 2. Identity & Naming (Stage Names vs. Legal Names) •Public Voting: You may request to use a stage name, artistic alias, or social media handle for the public voting phase on Patreon and promotional posts on social media. •Prize Verification: To claim any prize, you must provide your true legal name and matching contact/payment information. If the legal identity cannot be verified, or if the name provided conflicts with eligibility rules, the prize will be forfeited. 3. Audio & Performance Rules (Raw Audio Only) •No Auto-Tune: The use of Auto-Tune, pitch correction software, digital harmonization processors, or any post-production vocal manipulation is strictly prohibited. •Raw Audio Requirement: All entries must feature your raw, unedited live vocal audio recorded over your choice of karaoke backing track. Submissions that show evidence of audio tampering or editing will be disqualified immediately at the discretion of the organizers. 4. Deadlines & Voting Schedule •Deadlines: Specific opening dates, submission deadlines, and voting windows will be explicitly stated on our official contest posts and promotional announcements. Submissions uploaded to Dropbox after the posted deadline will not be reviewed. •Voting Window: Community voting will take place on Patreon strictly during the designated dates published by the organizers. 5. Voting, Tie-Breakers, and Judging •Initial Voting: Primary voting will be conducted by our Patreon community during the designated voting window. •Tie-Breaker Rule: In the event of a tie vote on Patreon, a designated panel of judges selected by the organizers will review the tied entries. The panel will break the tie and select the winner based on performance quality, creativity, and vocal execution. All decisions made by the panel are final and binding. 6. Prizes (Value up to $200 or less) Prizes will be awarded as advertised, potential maximum value of $200 per winner. •Prizes may be distributed via digital cash platforms (PayPal or Venmo), digital gift cards, or official merchandise. •Cash and gift card prizes are non-transferable. •Winners are solely responsible for any personal income tax implications associated with accepting cash or merchandise prizes under US law. 7. Media License & Public Display You grant the Contest organizers a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive license to host, stream, crop, edit, and publicly display your video. You explicitly acknowledge and agree that your video will be shared on our Patreon community page for public voting and cross-promoted across our social media channels (including but not limited to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook). 8. Copyright & Music Liability This is an amateur karaoke contest. The Participant acknowledges they are performing over a backing track. The Contest organizers do not own the underlying musical compositions, lyrics, or master recordings. The Participant assumes all responsibility and legal liability regarding third-party copyright claims related to their specific vocal performance or the specific backing track they chose to upload. 9. Platform Release This Contest is organized independently. It is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Dropbox, Patreon, PayPal, Venmo, or any social media platform where the video is posted. By entering, you fully release these platforms and the Contest organizers from any and all liability or claims arising from your participation.
